Education | Jennifer A. Klear has nearly ten years of experience as a litigator with reputable national and regional law firms. Over the past decade, she created and developed a new media and technology law practice that focuses on litigation and counseling of start-up companies, as well as Fortune 500 companies, on First Amendment and intellectual property issues as they relate to the Internet, including defamation law, privacy rights, rights of publicity, F.C.C. regulations, the protection and enforcement of trademark and copyright rights, and domain name disputes. Specifically, she counsels these clients on the legal risks related to online activities such as the creation and use of website content, blogging, and social networking.
Prior to founding her solo-practice, Ms. Klear worked for seven years as a Litigation Associate at Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP followed by two and a half years in the Business and Commercial Litigation department of Gibbons P.C. EXPERIENCE Ms. Klear has handled numerous State and Federal commercial litigations for several Fortune 500 companies, including two national telecommunications companies. She also has broad-based complex commercial litigation experience having litigated contract, employment, trademark, copyright, and patent issues. First Amendment Counseling and Litigation Ms. Klear has counseled corporations, individuals, and start-ups on defamation, privacy, trademark, and copyright matters pertaining to Internet activity, including social networking, blogging, podcasts, online newsletters, online content, and domain name disputes. She has also advised several clients, including a national telecommunications company and various technology companies, on assertions of First Amendment privileges.
